In 1983 a photographer
friend introduced Hudak to the work of Edward Weston. With growing disillusionment
in his occupational choice as an air taxi operator this exposure to
photography would have a profound effect on his future as a career pilot. In 1994, Hudak decided to leave the world of commercial photography entirely to concentrate on his own, more personal and creative vision. With his love of the outdoors and the earlier influence of Weston, Hudak turned his attention to black and white landscape photography, which for the past thirteen years has been his sole means of photographic expression. Working with an 8 x 10 view camera and printing in a conventional "wet" darkroom his photographs are centered on the landscape and abstracts of the natural world Select Bibliography: Landscapes Developing Style in Creative Photography, Published by Rotovision, 2000- Contributing Photographer Camera Craft, Black & White, Published by AVA, 2003 - Contributing Photographer The World's Top Photographers, Landscape, Published by Rotovison, 2003 - Contributing Photographer Black & White Photography Magazine, Issue # 53 December 2005, Portfolio Silvershotz Magazine, Volume 3 - Edition 5 - 2006, Profile, From Aviator To Fine Art Photographer Focus Magazine, Issue 4, Volume 1.
